About Donna Ceraulo
Donna Ceraulo has had a life-long passion for art. Her first introduction to painting was in High School in Phoenix, Arizona in 1977 where she developed an intense love of the Impressionists. Although her career was not in Art, she attended Art History classes in Junior College while raising a family and has participated in many public and private classes and workshops. She has also been tutored by several Fine Artists.
Donna has toured several of the world’s finest art museums in New York, Chicago, London, Munich, Florence, Milan, Venice, Rome and Paris. Donna is drawn to paintings of everyday life throughout history from Byzantine to Early Netherlandish through Modern Artists. In her own art she is inspired by the artistic use of color and texture often deploying a palette knife and sgraffito techniques. She enjoys creating landscapes and figures in an abstract, impressionistic or expressionistic way. She often uses vintage photography as inspiration for her work. She primarily utilizes acrylic paints and texture mediums but also works in oils, cold wax, watercolor and collage.
Donna began selling her artwork in 2017 after creating a dedicated art studio in her home in Phoenix, a space devoted to art and light. Donna believes in the self-healing and nurturing benefits of a creative life. “ART enables us to FIND ourselves and LOSE ourselves at the same time.” (Thomas Merton)
